After a relapse, it’s very common to have post-fap clarity of mind where we’re certain that we won’t do it again. But the issue is that this certainty tends to fade as the hours or days go by, and many people find themselves back in the craving a few days or weeks later. How can we finally put an end to this cycle? It won’t be determination, because we’ve already tried that- eventually the craving becomes too strong and the weak part of the mind gives in. How can we stop this for good?
No assertion about being abstinent in the future will do. These assertions may have become routine. The weak part of the mind has to be permanently defeated, and it can be done by eating healthily, sleeping well, and having a serious meditation routine. See it as a possibility that this might have been the last time. There must be a mental shift that we haven’t been experienced before, and we mustn’t settle until we’ve experienced it- we know when it’s happened- if it doesn't happen today that’s ok. There has to be true confidence that you can forego PMO for the rest of our life.
There must be a meditation routine in place. Aim for one hour as soon as you wake up, one hour right before you go to sleep. If it’s difficult to go for one hour, start with as little as 10 minutes one day, 15 minutes the next day, 20 minutes the next day, and so on. This will aquatint you with the mind so that it cannot trick you as easily.
Get right back on track- take a shower or a bath and renew yourself- you don’t have to worry too much about.
See if there’s any actions you can take to make the coming days easier for yourself, like ordering some healthy groceries so you’ll have higher energy throughout the week, or tidying up the house.
